But, fair is fair, while cleaning up you always come across things you didn’t remember having. Or didn’t even know you ever had.
This small artwork was hidden between two larger paintings. I remembered that it was a sort of diptych, albeit a small version of a painting I made in a different format a few days later. But the title? That took some searching. Something about light. I remembered that much. Eventually, I found an old blog post in which I described both paintings.
Cough...
Admittedly. The description doesn’t quite do it justice. This was the text: “The dog has his own rhythm. Anyway, I have to go outside early. That isn’t so bad at this time of year, because the sunrise in autumn is very special. The light has to make its way through the dark clouds and the morning mist. That inspired me to make these two paintings...”
Oh yes. Walking the dog early in the morning is another non favorite activity of mine. Although it does often provide inspiration. In this case, the early morning light. I also wrote a short sinister story based on a nighttime walk with the dog. (“Barker”, in case you want to look it up).
Yes, that’s nice, you might think. But what is that painting called? The work pictured here is titled “Break of Dawn (50 x 40 cm), mixed media on canvas.” The larger work is titled “Light of Dawn (115 x 75 cm).”
