The Butterfly Trail

This early in Spring the sun is not that strong. Temperatures are okay, but butterflies need a little more warmth. That's why they sit down on the pavement. The tiles absorb the warmth and the butterflies enjoy both the warmth of the tiles and, by spreading their wings, the warmth of the early sun.

Fashionably late

Yeah, I know. I promised to write a Flash Fiction story every week. And I still intend to do so. But emotions cannot be forced. Not even by time. It took me longer than I thought to get things, or rather myself, moving again. Oh well, what is time anyway? A man-made method to record what has been and what is yet to come.

Tuliptree

Tulip trees?  Uhhuh.  Right, it's April 1, don't you fool me... I know the 1957 sphagetti-tree-hoax from the BBC. Women drying pasta in a tree. So, what's up with this tulip tree? Well, I've got two in my garden. Okay. They are so called "false tulip trees". But they do belong to the same family as the original tulip trees...

Flashback

The very last day of the year. A memorable year. For me, not in the most favorable sense, unfortunately. As Keith Haring once said to work on "the shoulders of giants", referring to his his predecessors, I feel that my current and upcoming work arises from the love that I still feel for my great love that I will miss forever.

New year, new times, new stories. Not every story is equally sweet, fun, exciting or beautiful. What I do know is that our life stories, our lifelines, never run synchronously. Yes. Maybe for a while. But every life is determined by circumstances that you cannot control yourself, although many people think you can...

Summer is over, or... is it?

Summer is over. Just a few more "convulsions", a few sunny, warm days and then memories are all that remain. A few photos, videos and of course souvenirs from the trips you have made.

But some souvenirs you did not choose yourself. Some "souvenirs" chose you! Try to get rid of that.
