Summer at the beach. Not yet, but we´re getting close; entrepeneurs are busy building their beachclubs (summer restaurants) on the beach. Although many of them have permanent hideouts these days. Last year I made a series of photos of the remains of a club which was burned down a few summers ago. Never been rebuild and the remains have been removed early Spring this year; but such a nice subject to use for photos.
Rusted metal, scrap and burned wood, leftovers of a beachhouse which was destroyed by fire, look like natural abstract works of art. A piece of this metal was used in the painting. (It's almost like a painting within a painting...)
Have a look at my printshop for this new series of photos.
The lyrical abstract painting hereby (120x40cm / 47.25 x 15")) is made of sand and acrylics upon canvas; the turquoise square includes a piece of rusted metal of the former beachclub, a silent witness of the fire. Painting now for sale at eBay.
